Syria

Dear Olmert,

I must tell you that since I began writing to you, my appreciation has grown for the challenges you face as PM in advancing the peace that I so want to see. A lot has happened since I last wrote to you: Condoleeza Rice flew in and out of the region, reports of secret negotiations with Syria have surfaced, and more... And through it all I am slowly learning it is not easy to be PM, and even harder to take chances.

What is acutely missing is a framework of ublic psupport for exactly those initiatives which require courage of the Prime Minister. And this is something that I want to to change.

A PM willing to take risks for peace should know that he/she will be able to count on support. Peace should be the effort of a nation.
