Your horizon without horizon

Dear Olmert,

You said something I appreciated today and I like to give credit when credit is due. Speaking to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, you announced: "The diplomatic horizon is what affords us the elementary right to self-defense".

You added: "There is no way to prevent the process of Gaza'ization of the West Bank without proposing a diplomatic horizon." Well, I appreciate you seeing value in the need for a diplomatic horizon. But I'm not sure you see it all.

You see, we need a diplomatic horizon not only for self-defense. We need and must offer a diplomatic horizon so can live, and not live out of self defense. Understand, we must end our occupation of others to end our pre-occupation with ourselves.
