Yesterday you held the Government's cabinet meeting at Beit Shearim National Park. Okay. Nature is important and you are reminding Israel that they live in a setting that is larger than the conflict that besets us.
This is what you said at the Mishmar Hacarmel before your cabinet met in the cave: "This week we thus launch a week of love for nature, water and the environment, and I hope that this love will somehow add a dimension of happiness to all residents of the State of Israel."
Dimensions of happiness are added where there are none. There are none because we are beset by conflict. Nature, water and the environment can help us forget the conflict. But let's look for ways to add a dimension of peace to all...
Meeting in a cave makes for a pretty picture (see above). Please come out of the cave and do the work that needs to be done.

PS I'd I can refer to one more thing you said last week to foreign correspondents, I appreciated the sanity and optimism in this following stataement: "As I said before, if someone wants to look for excuses, there are enough excuses for us and for them. If someone wants to be more powerful than this, if he wants to project more optimism and faith in paving a way through difficulties and hurdles and obstacles that exist in order to lay the foundations for a genuine partnership in the building up of peace, then he has to do what we do. It is not easy; it takes time; it requires the patience which is not simple both inside his own society and vis-à-vis the other side. This is what I expect from myself and this is what I expect from my partner. I am still optimistic in spite of all of this."
