Dear Olmert,
So you spoke to the foreign journalists today, and through them to the world. In your "especially emotional statement" (Ha'aretz), you declared the ongoing peacetalks with Palestinians "essential".
The good news? You are going beyond reasons and excuses in order to make peace. "If I want an excuse not to negotiate, believe me, I have many. If the other side wants an excuse to stop the process, they can find many." You have to be unreasonable to make peace. Thank you for being unreasonable.
The bad news? In speaking of Hamas you announced that are not talking to Hamas and declared: "We will deal with Hamas in other ways and these ways will be very painful." The bad news is that these ways will be very painful - for us.
