Dear Olmert,Yom Hazikaron (Day of Remembrance) is upon us. On this day we remember the fallen: in Israel's wars, in tragi bombings and in terror attacks. This day began last night with a wailing siren. But our count of the fallen began in the year 1860.
22,437 have fallen as soldiers or citizens. 1,634 in attacks of terror. How many more will fall?
Mr. Prime Minister? How long will we continue this way? When will we make an about turn in how we live? How long will we live by the sword?
As Yom Hazikaron sets, Yom Ha'atzmaut (Independence Day) begins. Maybe this is too soon. Can we think it over? Are our tragedies and victories correlated? Should we not live in peace?
