You said this at today's cabinet meeting:
Voting in general elections is the essence of democracy. Here, everything starts with voting. It is important that there be a high turnout so that the government that will be elected knows that it has the full legitimacy, from a decisive majority of the residents of the state, to decide on the most important issues affecting our future. I appeal to every citizen and tell them to go out and vote. There is no other way in a democratic regime to influence the character and image of the government that will shape the fate of the country in the coming years.First thing, is voting the essence of democracy? Second, does everything start with voting? What is your role, the politician's role, in the democratic process? Third, is high turnout important for our government or our democracy. Does the govenment need to a high turnout to decide on important issues?
Fourth, you appeal to every citizen and tell them to go out and vote. Did you inspire citizens to vote with your actions? Fifth, is there no other way to influence? How about leading?
