Obama's first call

Dear Olmert,

Barack Obama has taken power and on his first full day of office he called the Middle East. The first call to an international leader was to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, not the Prime Minister of Israel. What does this mean? What did this say?

Let us do what we have to do to fulfill the promise of the presidency of Obama.
