Dear Olmert,
I saw that in this morning's cabinet meeting you spoke a new reality on the ground. I was so excited to see those words. You do believe in the possibility for a new reality, and your articulation gave me hope. For a long time I had hoped and trusted that you had the vision to imagine new possibilities, and new realities. And then I realized that your new reality was for better living in the Negev.
Now don't get me wrong: I love the Negev! I believe, as Ben Gurion did, that the people of Israel must develop this frontier. But please direct your visionary ability to the raging conflict at hand. Can't you see a new reality on the smoking ground on which we walk? Can you not envision a new reality for Jews and Arabs, Palestinians and Israelies?
